Hey Sohail; it’s 2020 and the world is crazier than ever… seems like it’s heading to oblivion sometimes – but all that must remain are the good memories; the good things. Best wishes

hello mate, I’m currently in Iran. You were trying to get here so you can make it to my wedding ! You were facing too many problems trying to get a visa, I remember you said you would get to the Turkish border to try and get in and you were serious . You would stop at nothing, you were some man for one man 🙂
You can go anywhere you want and I’m sure you’ve passed here by now. As I been walking around I know what we would have found funny and made jokes about. Talk soon my friend

Heya man! I’m back in the mountains… I always become reflective, being here. I remember going to the observatory with you and seeing the amazing views from there. People are never truly gone; if those who knew them, remember them. You’re still around man!

It’s at time of year. Christmas… the TV depicts happy go lucky families enjoying their time together whilst for many, it’s merely a time to remember those lost. I’m going to raise a glass for you today, Sohail; in memory. All the best wishes to your family, now – and for next year.

Hey Sohail, I remembered, today, that my emails to you were the longest emails I ever wrote… it’s been over four years and time just never slows down. You’re in that west coast horizon; I just know it.

I miss my friend desperately, even in his death Sohail has continued to be a good friend to me. He visits me in my dreams, and when I see his face and smile it helps. He is so brilliant and wise he is able to do things in spirit that my own father was not able to do until after ten years of passing on. My life was threatened back in July, as I was involved in a fight with my girlfriends ex-boyfriend. This guy pulled a knife and stabbed me in the back. The first few nights in the hospital ….Sohail came! Every movie that came on TV during my recovery was a movie I had seen in the theaters with Sohail, he is a great friend and death is not stopping him from anything! I will always share my experience here when I have them and wanted to document it here. I miss him….

I’ll never forget last New Years when Sohail stayed with us for a few days. He brought so much laughter with his unmatched wit and hilarious stories that I never felt like he was wearing out his welcome. 🙂 the day he left we all went to dinner and he insisted on paying and wouldn’t take no for an answer.he was a kind and caring soul who always wanted to make sure everyone else was having a good time. A spirit like that can never die as he will always live on in so many others he touched. Will think of you today and smile Sohail.

I think of my good friend often, if not on a daily basis…I truly miss him and my standard of living has forever been reduced, but recently, I was thinking about why someone so full of life, laughter, love, and respect would leave this world so soon…and then i heard something a great actor said and it made a little sense. He said “this life is a rehersal, and the performance it for real….” and so i figure that Sohail was better than this world could offer him…he has more important work to do and that is why he’s gone. This world is not MY home, nor was it Sohail’s and I know that he is smiling and free of the burdens of the flesh. I recently made the decision to tattoo both my arms half way….one of the pieces is a tribute to all my friends whos passed and the intials S.A. are forever inked in my arm as his spirit will live in my heart……………..

Sometimes as we grow old we all grow apart concentrating on life we forget to keep in touch with one another and I’m sorry friend for that. I ask you lord look over Sohail and may he rest in peace.

man… I do not know where to start. I have never known a person that could make me smile as much as Sohail. Even if he was not intending to be funny- he always made me laugh. His sense of humor was witty, cut and dry, and in your face- I loved this about him… I loved him. I am deeply sorry for his family and your loss. Sohail had gotten me through some tough times in my life as well, through his words alone. He will never be forgotten- love and miss you Sohail.

For the little amount of time that I got to know Sohail, it was apparent what a great person he was. Sohail was a person that lid up any place with his gigantic smile and his wonderful sense of humor. It was a pleasure to have met him, and it was a pleasure to be a part of the Ameri family in Hawaii during Farid’s & Gaby’s wedding. My most sincere condolences to the Ameri family.

I met Sohail many many years ago. He was a very sweet and super funny young man. Although I didn’t get to watch him mature, I am sure he turned out to be an extraordinary person. It’s always tragic when a young person full of life is taken. My heart is heavy with sadness. My deepest condolences for his family.

Sohail was a truly amazing person. Although tragically cut short, his life weaved a rich tapestry of love and comedy around everyone he connected with. The world over. Even if he didn’t realise it, Sohail had a profound effect on my life and many others. When I lost my father, he said some really heartfelt things to me, it helped more than he knew. When I had a kid, he said more nice things and poked fun and my lack of sleep. He seemed to find it easy to connect with people. He was smart, quick-witted and deeply caring. He lives on in the minds of us all. I’ll never forget him.

I love my brother, I want him back. He left to soon. We were supposed to get old together. I can’t believe it ended like this. I will miss you so much.

  32. Michael Acosta Reply

Farid, though I never had the pleasure of meeting your brother, I remember when we were in X-ray school together and some of the stories you’d tell us about things you and Sohail did together. Hearing you talk of your brother always showed what he meant to you and how much you cared for your brother. Hearing of his passing is truly a shock, and I am very sorry for your loss. Back then you always watched out for him, now I think your brother will be watching over you. I want to offer my sincere condolences to you, your mother and your family.

I still am having trouble processing this. Sohail and I had big plans to take Hollywood by storm. Now I have to do it alone. That makes me profoundly sad. Sohail was a true genius. He was one of the funniest people I’ve ever known and will ever know. He had wit like a well-greased bear trap. Whenever I’d be down, he’d always know what to say to make me feel better. He was a gentleman and a scholar. He was my doppleganger. He was one of my best friends of all time, and I’m going to miss him tremendously. Ride In Power buddy. You’ve moved on from this one-horse planet. You’re on to bigger and better things now. I love you, brother. You’ll be in my heart always. I’ll see you again down the road.

Just a good guy who was friendly to all !!RIP buddy !!!
